When nothing is going right, go left (open)

The air was fouled, it burned the eyes causing them to water, and the stench was something. This did nothing to dissuade the young faye from his way of thinking that humans were nothing less than a disease. A virus that was left unchecked that spread across the face of the earth. Like the parasites they were, humans consumed and destroyed, leaving huge swathes of ugliness in their wake. The beautiful woods that had once been a playground for many of his people were now barren where nothing good grew. If anything did grow it was stunted and shriveled better having not even tried to eke out a pitiful existence. That anyone would prefer to live in such a place was beyond Devan's understanding. This place deadened ones senses, making it easy to get lost if wandering too far away. Bad enough to smell the differences from what he was used to, he didn't wish to have to ingest the fouls substance too. The best way to try and not taste the polluted air was to keep the mouth shut and to breathe as shallowly as possible through the nose.

Like a child who pulled their shirt up to their nose to block out a smell, Devan used his shirt sleeve, as he walked carefully along. His skin crawled being out here where there was nothing familiar. It caused him to feel exposed which he rather disliked and caused an angry irritated light in his eyes. Where the blazes was he?! Taking out the map he'd been given, Devan studied the rough sketched out map of where to find Angelus. Annoyance radiated in his tone as he stated, "After so many years, one would think they would keep the maps updated in case one lost their sanity and took a stroll."

Aziz was walking around when he saw a young boy walking around by himself and Aziz couldn't help but follow him and that's what the young vampire did. He followed the boy around until he heard the boy speak to himself. Aziz couldn't help but laugh at the young boy and he instantly knew that the young boy heard him. Aziz didn't care though, he thought it was entirely crazy that the young boy was talking to himself.

Laughter was what greeted his remark. Devan didn't turn or try to find the person knowing that they likely wouldn't be there, vanishing before he could get a glimpse. Walking as if he was deaf to the sounds around him, he continued on trying to figure out his map. It wasn't as if Devan himself hadn't played this game before with people. Following them, sometimes to irritate, sometimes out of curiosity, and sometimes out of complete boredom. He would soon find out which this persons agenda was for. Tucking the map back in his pocket, he pondered then thought then took a seat on the forest floor with is back against the trunk of a tree and shutting his eyes. Or at least that was what people would see. Devan was rather good with illusions and had wrapped one around himself as he slipped around the tree and scaled it without making a sound. Perched in the branches he would be able to see whom was following him and decide if he wanted to play.

Aziz made sure to keep his distance so the boy didn't see him, but when he saw the boy run, Aziz knew this would be fun. Aziz followed the scent of the boy and tried to find him. When he finally did he saw the boy sitting down on the ground with his back against the tree trunk. The boy couldn't be that stupid right? He had no idea what this boy was doing or thinking. He snuck up behind the boy to scare him when something didn't seem right. He turned and saw the boy watching him. Aziz tried to play it off. "Wow, didn't know you'd sit down at a time like this, especially with me following you" Aziz said out of the blue.

"Where's the fun in that?" Devan asked the other with a mocking grin allowing the illusion to fade. "Just following someone is boring isn't it? Wouldn't it be much better playing something while doing so?" It wasn't really hide and seek since it wasn't as if he'd be trying to find a hiding spot. Or would it fall under a different category?

The faye's head tilted to the side as he studied the other person. At first he hadn't thought they were human, and there was something that told him that he was correct. Just as Devan's people more or less resembled the humans, something that made him feel as if he swallowed something sour and vile, so too did this person. The red eyes also gave it away. He wondered which reason was the cause for the vampire? to follow him. Boredom was easily understood as was curiosity if this was its usual haunts and found an unwanted intruder such as Devan.

"Or some other kind of game in the mix?"

Aziz was getting fed up with this kid, he was about to have him for dinner and call it a day. Aziz wasn't much of a patient person but surprisingly he was holding his ground better then he thought he was. "Oh we can definitely play a game but it won't be as much fun as you'd think. You see... I always win" he replied.

"Doesn't matter kid."

"Well, what do you know," Devan stated with a smirk. "So do I. This should be fun then!"

Kid? Well, he supposed he was for his own people. For humans he would be an old man. Another reason why he didn't understand how creatures with such a short life span ended up the way they did to run rampant. Standing up on his branch he walked a little further along his branch, grinned and jumped to another in a different tree before he began to run calling, "Catch me if you can then!"

Aziz watched as he ran and he decided to lean against a tree and looked at his finger nails. He decided that he was going to let the kid run and he'd sit back and wait until he used his vamp speed to catch the kid that really thought he could out run a vampire. All he could do was laugh because of what this kid was actually thinking right now. When he thought it was enough time, he sensed the boy and then vamp sped in front of him. "Got you."
