A Normal Night (Daniel)

Valentine was Elsa's alter ego when coming to the club, she looked 100% different, except for her eyes of course. That was the only way Carlisle knew it was her. She quickly got dressed in her burlesque clothes and looked in the full length mirror, yep, looked good. She heard Black Widow call for her and she rushed down the stairs and met her by the stage.

" Yes ma'am?" She asked as she stood by her side.

" It's your turn, break a leg." Black Widow said as she nudged Valentine in the ribs and winked slyly at her Valentine rolled her eyes and heard her song intro begin to play. She sat on her chair in the beginning until she began singing, than she danced around a bit, she looked around the stage at all the men and women sitting around the stage, at the bar, or just standing around.

Once her set was finished she bowed gracefully at the audience. She walked off stage and smiled at Widow. " How was it?" She asked in a faux british accent, when Widow told her what was good, what she could work on, and what the audience thought she smiled and nodded before walking out of the back room and going to the bar. She sat on a bar stool and ordered a 'Mad Hatter' drink. She looked around as she waited.

Daniel had ended up at a really unusual place. He had lost the trail he tried to find the trail again...of the angel with the voice whose song he would never forget. His now best friend Carlisle mentioned this place. He had made his way inside of a building that seemed unique. Walking inside and tilted his head he wondered where this was. Walking inside and heard a voice that lured him inside further and to watch the stage only to follow the person who had sang over to a bar. Leaning backwards against it. Shadows casting in his face as a pair of shades hid his face.

He started to sing out a black cowboy hat hid his face. He wanted to spend time with her...and Carlisle...before then. He had to live a little before he risked it all for his sister. He couldn't fail Thana too. He shook his head and sang out so she would hear him over the instrumentals going on over on stage. Oblivious to the fact others were able to hear it and he was stealing the attention. A dark cowboy...he looked like a ghost rider from the ghost rider movies. He sang out to get her attention as he knew by the sound of her voice it was her. He would recognize it sober, stoned, high off potions, or drunk beyond wasted.

Unplanned yet sounding as if it was in response to "Valentines" own song. The mysterious male dressed like ghostrider of the Ghostrider film sang to "Valentine" to get her attention.

Elsa was listening to the other girl on stage, Deadly Veronica was her name. She sipped on her drink a bit, she turned as a familiar voice floated through the air, over the instruments, over the vocals, she turned and saw him, Phantom, he looked more like a Phantom Ghost Rider at the moment. But it was him, and he looked very hot in that cowboy outfit she had to admit, wow, she really did have no filter as Valentine.

She saw him walk towards her, she didn't even realize a smirk had crept onto her face and she began walking towards him as well. Like there was a gravitational pull to him, she heard the girl on stage bitching to Black Widow about the small interruption, but she didn't care. All she cared about was what he was trying to say. She couldn't quite understand, it sounded like he was saying goodbye?

When his song had ended she came up with a song in response. It was the only one she could think of, it was kind of a sad song when you thought about it. But it kind of seemed to fit at the moment.

Daniel looked to her as the people seemed to part when "Valentine" made her way over to the suddenly appearing "Phantom Ghost Rider". He stood with feet between them. Shadows casting on him and light casting on "valentine" they in outer aspect seemed to encompass life and death. Light and darkness. She was yin and he was yang. Or maybe it was the reverse. As she sang out loud he listened to her. Today he wasn't saying goodbye but he was foreshadowing the day where he would come to say goodbye. It was sometime off still. He had time still. Had to build his forces. Listening to hers you could see him silloutted. It was like wonderlands own personal phantom of the opera play was unfolding. Unplanned and uncaring...unnoticed of the stealing of the show that just occured. The girl on stage and Black Widow unnoticed.

Maybe it was the place they were located or the fact "valentine" was the daughter of a muse...who knew. All that could be said was when they sang the images hit the eyes of the onlookers and when hers finished without seeming to miss a beat he responded to hers. He wasn't here to say goodbye not yet but a warning of the days to come. He tried to convey that today wasn't goodbye and for her not to cry. That he was here to show her that they were friends and that meant something to him. To live and smile but not worry about tomorrow. He wanted her to fight to live and to keep growing stronger as he had been helped by her. To never forget that he would always be watching over her. To live in the moment not let what may come within the weeks to haunt her mind. That he was here to show her the support he had been shown by her. These words to others wouldn't go through but he saw he confused her.

His hand moved only into the light and took ahold of hers. Pulling it up so their hands were half closed by light and half closed by darkness. Moving forwards he was still silloutetted and now light cast onto the shadows revealing the shadowy outline of the "Phantom Ghost Rider" who was singing and talking through simply song like out of the phantom of the opera play. He glanced over noticing Black Widow and retreated back a step into the shadows but didn't release "Valentine's" hand to show he meant no disrespect or ill intent to Black Widow, her Wonderland or "Valentine." He looked at "Valentine" and pulled her to him as he started to dance in and out of the light and shadows with her.

He wanted to show her how much he believed in her and hoped this song portrayed his thanks. His beliefs in her and how much she had helped him and how much he believed in their friendship. Chasing away the goodbyes. He made the dance almost like a tango to the instrumentals in the song. However, when the first song ended she wouldn't be given time to reply to the first one. He didn't want a reply to it. Just to the second one. As he finished dancing as he spun her out but still held her hand with his and held it high. The hand was up in the air with his own. Once again she was in the light and he was the dark. Yet he didn't stop at the first song which responded to hers. Instead he jumped into a second song that would start a different conversation. First song was in response to her breathe no more. To show her thanks and show her she helped him so often.

The second song was a different track. A different meaning and meant to inspire her. To seem more passionate and fight for the future. He looked at her as he finished the dance and held her like a scene out the phantom of the opera scene. It was more lively and it was not in a sorrowful tone it was just different from where her mind had went. The meaning in the second song was all of that but it was also trying to encourage her to not let the cruel thoughts of others drag her down. That nothing is for free in the world and that everyone does what they can to make it in the world. Whether a job on the street or a dancer on the stage...its all to make it in this world. Nobody has a right to judge you for that and that you shouldn't let it hurt when people don't understand. Everyone just wants to pay their expenses and make it through. To build their own lives and survive. He wanted her to know that he was cheering her on and that everyone does their own things to survive, live, pay their bills...that he was helping Carlisle see this. That he was proud she lived life to the fullest. That he wouldn't stop trying to live not just exist until he was dead...like she wanted.

Elsa had thought "Phantom" was here to say goodbye, but when he corrected her that it was not him saying goodbye tonight, but he seemed to foreshadow it. She listened and smiled as they danced, they looked like should be on the stage performing phantom of the opera or something similar to it. She noticed him step back into the shadows and she glanced to the stage and saw he was looking at Black Widow, whom had a smirk on her face, she rolled her eyes and a soft smile graced her lips as she danced with her "Phantom".

She went to reply to his first song but he didn't give her time, she giggled and listened. This time their conversation changed from something somber to something more lighthearted and less serious, it seemed like he was telling her something and she would admit she was a bit confused in the beginning, but it suddenly started making sense. He wanted the same for her like she wanted for him. To live life to the fullest and to take nothing for granted. She had tried to come up with a song that would match his, she slowed danced with him as his song came to an end. Without missing a beat she came up with another one, she danced with him like she did at the school. The first song she sang was her basically telling him he could go anywhere and no matter what she would find him, because he was her best friend and thats what friends did for each other.

Once that song ended she didn't give him time to reply and smirked as she sang the next song. She moved in and out of the light, when she would go to the shadowed side she would look just a little impish and maybe a bit sinister, but when she got to the light side she would look like a perfect little angel. She danced and moved with him, when he was back in the shadows she grabbed his cowboy hat and put it atop her head and just grinned at him.

Daniel listened to her as she totally ignored his attempt to prevent her from singing the first song. They danced and moved as if they were the tiny figurines and the floor was their music box. The lid of the box open allowing music to ring out for them. Their motions as if their mentally were connected as one. Or they had over the days rehearsed it repeatedly. Synchronization that seemed to flow naturally with them. The unity as one whole yinyang not just yin or yang. Yet this was all an illusion and perfection like this didn't often come with practice. This wasn't something you could plan...best friends and this appearance.

Besides...practicing doesn't always make it better or perfect. You have to fix the mistakes to make it perfect. This...was something that occured naturally. A long time ago a man once said...practice doesn't make perfection...perfect practice makes perfection. If you practice the same mistakes over again you'll just keep doing the same mistakes again just more easily. He listened and was thinking up more songs. A response or change of temperment of the entire atmosphere around them and caused by them. He wouldn't be not remembering and unlike times in the past...he was just Daniel. Between Carlisle and Elsa...less a living corpse but still a man with nothing left to lose. And for once he was completely sober and not messing with potions or anything. As she finished the second song he decided to do like her...ignore her attempts to continue on or not allow time to answer...and let the conversation drop. Instead deciding to go up, over and onwards and just keep it moving into unexpected angles and conversations.

He was cast in shadows when they finally stopped dancing when this round of music faded away. Mere seconds later...no sooner had the dancing and echoing chords started fading away is when she stole his cowboy hat. Upon doing so...she revealed her "Phantom Ghost Rider" was wearing the mask from his opera namesake...The Phantom Of The Opera. Over the left side of his face. Leaving his beautiful eye silloutted and adding more of the mysterious allure and seductive mystery to him. The light reflecting off of the mask that was so close a replication.

He stood there with her as a mysterious melody played in the background giving them a suspended in motion effect. The musicians wouldn't start up again until they received some sign. He moved into the light just enough it outlined and cast shadows or reflected giving him a more defined contour while leaving him enveloped in shadows. On closer inspection when she wore his cowboy hat...she'd notice that the other side of his face was unmasked. His hair was thus left to shroud his face in mystery. Thus seen by his bangs covering the side of his face the mask didn't. He held up a hand and with action not words...showed he had a gift for his friend. Reaching into and pulling out of his jacket, something at first hidden, as he pulled a beautiful handmade origami rose...moving as if flowing and held it out to her. Hand moved into the light. With his palm up and it rested there.

He started singing as the woman in charge obviously told them to continue to play and to roll with it. The other girls, outside the one who Daniel accidentally spotlight jacked, seemed intrigued and more than willing to help if needed. The rose was made with a fabric like paper done in the Origami Kawasaki method. Using a type of paper fabric that felt like crushed velvet. A friendship present that was handmade. The metal woudn't hurt her. The flower never fade or age. He had worked so hard to make it that way. The paper fabric...he had frozen in suspension to not tear or lose the shape of a rose. With a leaf and it was all set inside a thin ring band that was engraved with slightly useful protection and luck runes on it. Hand made and tempered. Same way he did the weapons she once swiped off his sleeping form and never gave back. The gift made for her and yellow roses were friendship signs.

There hadn't been but a few moments lull before another few moments the music started up and standing he sang out again. Singing a random upbeat song that totally described himself...or her...who knows really but it wasn't meant as anything more than fun. He wouldn't move until she took the ring.

Elsa smirked as she took his cowboy hat off and she laughed softly. " Always one step ahead of me huh?" She asked as she crossed her arms and watched him, she leaned a bit to see what he was pulling out of his pocket and her eyes narrowed curiously. She saw he had the other side of his face shrouded in mystery and rolled her eyes but smirked. Her smirk turned into a smile as she saw the ring, it was absolutely beautiful. She slipped it on her right ring finger and felt the petals, it was as soft as velvet and fit her finger perfectly. She mouthed a 'thank you' before he started singing, she had remembered the time she had stolen his swords and never gave them back. She decided she would give them back to him tonight.

She danced a bit more with him as he sang, she thought for a moment for another song. She finally came up with one just to kinda tease and mess with him a bit, so she began to dance with him to an upbeat song, if he thought she was bad to the bone he hasn't seen anything yet. She danced and sung with him a bit more and when the song ended she had a bright smile on her face. She grabbed Phantom's hand and walked with him to some hidden stairs that led to the girls private lounge. She held his hand and led him up the stairs and saw a majority of the girls standing there, grins on their faces and giggling like school girls. " Everyone out." She said and pointed to the door, the girls filed out and she closed and locked the door behind them.

Elsa saw the girls were watching them from the monitor in the lounge and sighed. " Nosy girls." She said with a shake of her head and she sat down on the couch, she patted on the seat next to her. " So, wanna talk about what's bothering you?"

Daniel looked at her and just winked to her mouthed thank you. He and her danced some more as people were enthralled. Stage actresses, waitresses, bartenders, patrons and the like...all were enthralled and getting into this rather impromptu dancings. As the girls song ended he was already in the process of thinking of a response song. He arched his eyebrow a bit. He was totally meaning the bad to the bone thing to them both. Now that she had said that he wanted to get one more song in. So even though they finished dancing he wanted to continue to sing. Elsa didn't give him a chance. She had dragged him upstairs and blinked a bit. "Uh...so whats with the sudden curtain call? You guys can see each other from that thing?" He said. Pointing at the moniter and tilted his head a bit. He crossed his arms and moved to leaning against the wall. "Nothing is bothering me. I told you already I was just in the neighborhood and coming to hang out with a friend." he said in a huff. Hair falling forwards then back into place to conceal the part of his face that didn't have a mask on. He looked at her. "Unless that isn't allowed? I guess I accidentally stepped on peoples toes huh?" he said in a soft yet amused tone.

Elsa knew he wanted to sing another song but she wanted to talk with him privately. She sensed there was something amiss with her friend and wanted to find out what, she walked to the monitor and turned it off so the other girls would get nosy, although they would probably think she and Phantom were doing something other than talking. She rolled her eyes as the thought, her heels clicking were muffled by the carpet. Elsa listened to him and she shook her head. " I wanted to talk in private, you seem...sad." She said to him. " I do yet don't believe that. I think you came here for a different reason too though," she said softly as she came and sat down next to him on the couch, she moved his hair out of his face and behind his ear. " Whats wrong?" She asked him kindly, she wanted to know what was wrong with her best friend, she hoped it wasn't anything to bad. She rolled her eyes. " That is perfectly fine, the only persons toes you stepped on was Lorna's. She always hates it when people steal her spotlight, especially when they're more talented than her." She giggled a bit.
