Having been given clear directions at last, Devan had began his trek to deliver the message to his sister in law as well as find out what was so appealing about this place and about humans. Having his curiosity piqued about this university, he'd enrolled on a whim. It was ample opportunity for him to find out, as well as cause a bit of mayhem and have fun along the way. It was a win win situation. For the moment though, he wanted to see for himself how he compared to the brother that he had never met. The thought of the reactions from Angelus when he found out he was no longer an only child was enough to cause a smirk to grace Devan's face briefly. His brother had better be worth the effort of having to come out to this place, subjected to the horrors it possessed. But to find that he worked with people who's minds weren't right. Now that, that was something that he could find interesting.

Dropping out of the tree he'd been in, Devan walked away from the Asylum towards the graveyard. Once inside he strolled leisurely once or twice stopping to stare at someone that was by a grave. Watched for awhile before he moved on occasionally touching a gravestone or admiring a sculpture. He took the long way back towards the University thinking he would have to wait a bit more before he would be able to talk to his brother when it seemed like luck was shining on him. Shadowing Angelus he made no pretext that he was doing anything else and wanted to see how long before the other decided he'd had enough.

Angel had been out for a walk thinking about things with Dani and what she wanted with the baby. It was really hard on him and he was scared that if they went through this there was always risks. He had toured the cemetery looking at all the people lost too young and he hoped that they could change that.

Angel got a interesting sensation as he was walking, a feeling he normally did not get unless he was at home. Since Dani and him had left home to live among the humans their families had not taken to it too well because they both had responsibilities there. He was walking down a path and glanced back and thought he had seen someone, but they disappeared into the shadows. What did this person want? Angel stopped and sat down on a bench and looked out in front of him, "I know that you are there, hard to hide the fact of what you are?" Angel said. "But it makes me wonder why another Faye would be following me, when most of the ones I know call me at home."

While not really coming with any expectations, when Angelus opened his mouth, Devan's own wanted to turn down. Right away his brother had irritated him by saying the wrong thing. Completely ignoring the first comment the younger man addressed the second.

"Interesting," he stated even as his tone belied the sentiment, "since the lobby didn't really seem accommodating for guests." What wasn't said was that he was sure that everyone else aside from his brother would have been more fascinating for him to interact with. That place would prove too much of a temptation and distraction. Taking his time approaching Angelus he stopped just out of reach, his bare feet making no sound. Disliking the human shoes with their bits of metal on them and how much they weighed, his lighter boots from home were on a cord and hanging from his shoulders. He'd never much cared for wearing shoes, liking the feeling of the different types of earth beneath his feet, but one couldn't go about that way in the human world.

"Besides," he put on a polite smile. "That would be rude, wouldn't it? Calling on someone's home unexpectedly without any kind of forewarning."

There was something about this man that Angel found quite interesting and it was bugging him as to why there was something similar about this guy that Angel should know. Angel did find it interesting that the man did not use the Faye entrance to their living quarters which they have because of their parents, which of course Angel had not seen his parents in a long time. "What is interesting is that you did not use the proper entrance directly into my living quarters." Angel stated.

Angel began to wonder what this man wanted with them, "My question to you is what can I do for you?" Angel questioned. "Family and friends are always welcome, no invitation required. So this tell me that you are here on business so you might as well spill it."

"Well, like you said, that would be for family wouldn't it?" Devan asked as if that cleared the matter up entirely. While they were siblings, it wasn't as if Angelus knew it. And it would be interesting how long he could keep the other in the dark. The added bonus that Devan just liked irritating people. It was a hobby as well as past time. "I"m neither at the moment, but a deliver boy."

Oh this would be fun! It seemed that Angelus was the easily irritable type. Pulling out a scroll he made as if to hand over then thought better of it pulling it back. Tapping his chin with the end of it he said, "You could tell me where your wife is. Technically, I can't give this to anyone but her. You understand? Wouldn't want the queen to go thinking I couldn't complete a simple task as delivering a message."

Angel didn't understand this man or what points he was trying to make, if he was trying to make one anyway. "I have never turned my back on my people, I still consider the Faye my family." Angel pointed out to the man, "Whether by blood or not." Angel may not live in his world any more by choice but he would never turn them away if they showed up at the door.

Angel looked at the young man still trying to figure out why it seemed he knew the man. "Well my wife is up at the Asylum, but I am sure the queen would not be upset if you gave it to me." Angel told the young man not understanding the tone with him. "I am sure the queen would not think less of you because she is not like that, just like my parents."

"Its a matter of professionalism," was the comeback while keeping the message away from Angelus. Arching a brow at the other's assurance of the disposition of the queen and their parents, Devan gave a short laugh. It was true that human natures could change quickly while those of the faye were slower, they were known to happen. Devan was proof enough that Angelus had been out of the loop for quite some time when it came news from home. "You've been away from home too long if you think that, Highness."

On the outside Devan was playfulness and business while on the inside he was boiling. Family?! If the Fay were his family he wouldn't be slummimg it with these filthy humans! He would be at home with daughter and wife while she prepared to take her parents' place. Devan would have grown knowing his brother as something other than a person in a story told by his parents, tutors, or courtiers.

"Why don't you tell me what you know of them?" Sincere curiosity laced Devan' voice. He wanted to know what part of their parents Angelus received. What it was like before Devan's time. Maybe it would help him understand.

Angel was still trying to figure this guy out and usually doing what he did he could usually read someone rather easily, but this man was not to be read and it was driving him crazy. He also had never met anyone from his world that would just hand it over to him. “Well professionalism it may be, but usually no one questions me and just hands us notes.” He stated, “Everyone knows our families and when have been together for a long time so usually someone doesn’t have a problem giving one of us a message for the other. We know each other’s business anyway.” He sighed a little.

The more he sat there listening to this man he wondered if he was one of the ones that didn’t approve of what Angel and Dani were doing. He knew that there were many back at home that thought they should not care for the humans, but humans were just as important as they were. They had to have humans to survive in life if one must know that.

“You want to know what I know about my own parents.” Angel asked with a little confusion. “My parents have always loved me and understand of why Dani and I felt the need to help the humans of the world.” Angel told him. “They have come to visit Alyce a few times, just not a lot recently.” He commented. “I love my parents very much, and I do miss the occasionally.”

"You've yet to convince me to hand it over," Devan replied with an amused smile. No one ever questioned him before? Well, wouldn't this be fun? Devan always questioned everyone. It was part of the game. All the more amusing because he usually told the truth or had it laced in his answers. "I don't know you nor your wife so how can I know what you say is true?"

When asked about wanting to know about 'his' parents, the younger faye nodded. That was what he'd asked wasn't it? Had his brother's time among the humans dulled his mind to this? To repeated what was asked or said just like humans did? The answer he received further convinced Devan that the more one spent around humans the more your mind rotted. Apparently he would have to be specific and not just general in what he wanted. Or had Angelus always been this way? How was it that their parents and their people lauded someone that was so....dull and had to have things spelled out?

"Hmm, I wonder why that could be," he commented as if idly about why their parents hadn't come to see their precious first born lately. Squatting and looking at the other with a tilted head his smile of amusement morphed to one stating he knew a secret. "You really don't know much do you? Too bad!" The last was said in a sing song tone as if holding in a laugh.

Angel could not understand this young man as he was listening to him talk. What was his problem about giving Angel the note for his own wife? It was getting to be a little annoying and Angel usually didn’t get annoyed easy. “Her parents are the King and Queen so you cannot lie to me like that.” Angel said a little crossness in his voice, “You cannot be that stupid, that much about you I know.”

Angel was starting to be a little worried about this young man and his questions, along with his refusal to hand over the note from the King and Queen. Angel listened to the kid and wondered what he was really trying to find out. “Why would you care if I was seeing my parents or what was going on in their life?” Angel asked him. “I know more than you do apparently, they are my parents.” Angel told him.

"I'm glad that you're aware that I'm not a dullard," Devan replied dryly with a touch of sarcasm. And what was this? Was his brother actually beginning to show a little bit of an attitude? What fun this would be! He laughed since he was having fun and didn't care what it would cause the other to think. This was the most fun he'd had in quite a while. He would have to be sure to thank his brother in some form later. As if teasing he stated, "It's not nice to call someone a liar when they're telling the truth."

While he bent the truth or omitted things, he didn't outright lie. Not usually since he found that in bad form and had much more fun to have a round about sort of truth. The pesky details not being needed to be mentioned. As if speaking to someone slow never losing the amused glint in his eyes, Devan stated, "I'm aware that her parents are the king and queen. They are the ones that sent me here to deliver this missive." Continuing as if Angel was the younger and himself the older, "Just because I know of or about someone doesn't mean I know them."

When Angel commented about their parents and that he was more in the loop then Devan, he laughed again. Really it wasn't as if he would have been able to help it. It was only funny he supposed because Angel was completely clueless and if their roles were reversed then it wouldn't have been so amusing. That was neither here nor there. Standing up he rocked back and forth on the heels of his feet. "How should I put this..."

Making as if he was debating what to tell the other when he already knew what he wanted to say, Devan watched closely to see what the news would do. "Really? What a coincidence, they're mine too." Grinning from ear to ear he stated, "Apparently I knew more than you did!"

Angel sighed and suddenly did not understand what this guy’s problem was with him. He could not ask a question or make a comment without either distaste in his voice or with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. Obviously this man had a problem with Angel and he was going to have to figure out what was going on with the man. Angel was rather adept at getting information from difficult people. Now instead of being a dullard as he was putting it, he was being a smart ass. “Well every Faye knows the royals and their family. Last time I checked it was still in the schooling. So you may not know us personally, you know who we are.” Angel told him.

Angel was not understand this kid at all as he listened to his smart ass mouth continue to talk. “Do you always have to be a smart ass about things?” Angel asked the kid as he looked at him. “Knowing of someone is just what I was getting at.” Angel was getting irritated with this kid because something was wrong with this picture.

Angel looked at the kid finally and sighed a little, “Will you just tell me what the hell your problem is with me?” Angel told him, but when the kid got around to answering his question Angel was rather frozen in his spot because what the kid stood up and said surprised Angel because he was not expecting it. Angel stood up and glad at the kid in front of him, “You seriously have issues if you think being my brother is funny, or my life is a joke.” Angel told him. “So do you really have a note, or did you just come all this way to be an ass?”

"Apparently there is a flaw in your logic seeing as you didn't know that I existed and yet every faye is supposed to know the royals and their family," Devan returned happy that he was able to rile up his brother. "And despite that yes, your life is a joke, that's beside the point."

Knowing that he was likely pushing the other to the limit, Devan had to admit that he liked doing that since that was a common reaction he received from people. Them wanting to hurt him but trying not to. To prove that the letter was genuine he turned it so that Angelus could see the royal crest embedded in the wax. Arching a brow as if to dare the other to say again that he was lying. Keeping the letter far away from his brother, Devan wasn't going to give the missive to anyone but the man's wife either. He had given his word after all, and Devan very much prided himself on keeping his word. And according to their parents, yes, Devan did indeed have issues. Some of which they believed dear old Angelus could sort out. "Being 'an ass' as you put it, is just a bonus."

Sticking the letter into his pocket he crossed his arms giving the other a look of impatience. "So you going to tell me where I can find your wife or what?"

It wasn't as if he really wanted to end the game so soon, but he did have to deliver the letter. While he knew that the news he bore was important he wasn't told exactly what it consisted of. Other than it was a sort of appeal. And had to do with an illness in the family. Devan didn't pay much attention to politics besides what he needed to know to keep himself entertained. And alive. Alive was very good and important.
